2013 – adult catechism classes in Cheltenham 

The course will comprise seven sessions, each lasting about two hours. Instruction will be offered in English.

We plan to introduce a course in Russian depending upon demand. Our sister Orthodox community of St John Chrysostom also provides instruction in Greek.

We are very pleased to announce that Fr Stephen Platt from our sister Diocese of Sourozh and Rector of the Orthodox Church of St Nicholas the Wonderwoker in Oxford has kindly agreed to run catechism courses for our community. The course comprises seven sessions each of about two hours duration, and will include discussions on Doctrine, Church History, Prayer, Ethics, Salvation, FAQs and the Baptism service.

The next catechetical course will be during September and December 2012, and will be open to anyone who is interested – whether catechumen or life-long Orthodox; designed to teach all people a solid foundation in Orthodox Christian theology.

We look forward to meeting with those who wish to take instruction or anyone who is simply interested in learning more about Orthodox Christianity. In the meantime, please refer to these excellent primers:
